Europcar New Zealand first to add new BMW 3 Series vehicles to its fleet

Europcar has become the first vehicle rental company in New Zealand to add a fleet of BMW 3 Series to its model portfolio.

Europcar New Zealand General Manager, Steve Whyte, said Europcar was committed to offering new vehicles with high ratings in both environmental sustainability and safety.

“The new BMW 3 Series is an exciting addition to the Europcar fleet and will be available for rental in the North Island and South Island,” Mr Whyte said.

“We’re looking forward to the new BMW 3 Series fulfilling customer demand for a premium, green, safe and sporty new car offering.”

Globally applauded as representing the epitome of an Ultimate Driving Machine, the BMW 320d emits just 117 grams of carbon dioxide per kilometre and is rated five stars for safety, with features including Dynamic Stability Control, Antilock Braking System, Brake Assistant, Cornering Brake Control and Dynamic Traction Control.

Managing Director of BMW Group New Zealand, Nina Englert, said BMW was delighted to have the BMW 3 Series as part of the Europcar fleet, giving more drivers the opportunity to experience the vehicles’ features and creature comforts.

“The BMW 3 Series is the world’s best-selling premium car and over coming months Europcar customers will come to appreciate the dynamic driving experience only a new BMW can provide,” Ms Englert said.

“This BMW 3 Series is the sixth generation of one of the world’s most iconic sedans and sets new benchmarks in terms of sporting prowess, elegance and comfort.”

The BMW 3 Series features an eight-speed automatic sport gearbox with gearshift paddles on the steering wheel. The engaging driving experience is further enhanced by way of a sport leather steering wheel, while rain sensor and automatic headlight activation allows the driver to concentrate on the road.

The new transmission is one element of BMW EfficientDynamic technology that provides more power yet uses less fuel, which is further aided by auto stop/start as well as brake energy regeneration. Such measures contribute to a fuel consumption of only 4.5-litres per 100 kilometeres.

Another feature sure to win many fans is the acclaimed Driving Experience Control, a feature fitted as standard that allows for a variety of driver modes ranging from an efficiency enhanced setting called Eco-Pro through to Comfort, Sport and Sport+.

Creature comforts are numerous and include a 6.5 inch colour display, iDrive controller, Bluetooth connectivity and audio streaming, album cover display and USB connections.
